Blue Ocean Strategy by Renée Mauborgne and W. Chan Kim

This is an interesting book about developing a business, aim to establish a new field by thinking of how a particular market could develop and perhaps learn from other markets. Gives examples of success stories such as Cirque du Soleil, in which merging evening entertainment and higher prices with the circus theme was successful, particularly as the circus theme on it’s own was losing appeal.

According to this book a good business needs:
1. Focus 2. Diversification 3. Compelling tag line

Blue ocean = unique field
Red ocean = overcrowded field (think bloody battle)

Aim to establish blue ocean to allow you to grow!
