The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs: How to Be Insanely Great in Front of Any Audience by Carmine Gallo

Breaks down Steve Jobs presentation skills. To replicate him utilise storytelling and include bad guys or the thing that is the problem then lead up to the solution.  It is important first to give audience the need.

Use slides with pictures, not bullet points, break things down into chunks of 10 minutes and then change the presentation to keep the attention of the audience.  Aim not solely to have nice visual displays but also sound, use voice to build intensity, use things people can touch to appeal to all senses.

If stating a number chunk this down into something that is of relevance to the intended audience.  For example one gigabyte who cares but if you say it’s 1000 songs in your pocket whilst pulling the device out of your pocket this is effective.

Keep language simple and don’t use unnecessarily long words to appear intelligent. Practice your presentations prior to delivering them. Keep notes hidden, your notes should  be prompts rather than notes. Finally have fun and convey passion!
