Quite liked this, fun, fairly harmless book in which author tries different things thinking he will be declined and reflects upon experiences.  These include things such as asking a pilot if he can fly the plane. Surprisingly lots of his ridiculous requests are accepted.  This leads to him realising the following:

1. Ask why (if) you are rejected.
2. Don’t take rejection personally – more often it is about the rejecter’s situation or desires rather than relating to you.
3. If you are going to reject someone tell them this clearly at the start, don’t build up their hopes and give reasons if they ask.
4. When rejecting it can be helpful to recommend an alternative.
