The Happiness Equation: Want Nothing + Do Anything = Have Everything by Neil Pasricha

This short book in a very non systematic way studies happiness and includes quotes from the likes of Shakesphere randomly plucked.  The equation is:

1. Be Happy First

2. Do It For You

3. Remember the Lottery (you have already won this to be alive)

4. Never Retire

5. Overvalue You (only spend time working on things you enjoy)

6. Create Space (automate certain decisions, set time frames to do things quicker)

7. Just Do It

8. Be You

9. Don’t Take Advice (there is no perfect advice)

The interesting bit for me was limiting some decision to one or two choices so they don’t drain your mental capacity & you are ready for bigger ones! Seemingly President Obama had only one choice to make regarding what suit to wear (blue or grey) freeing him up for more important decisions.
